There’s just so much!
Where do we begin to learn, to look, to think different and to see again for the first time in a World Gone Social? And with all of the noise and 24-7-365 hype, how do we know what really sticks when everything gets thrown against the wall? With signposts pointing every-which direction, how do we plan for and craft the best pathways to follow to truly Connect, Converse, Partner and Grow with clients, supporters and community members in meaningful and sustainable ways?
And how do we begin to make sense of the all of the fragments of information that stream by online and offline, in posts and updates and tweets and texts and emails and photos and videos, and even during that timeless act of face-to-face conversation? What kind of memorable, beneficial and compelling stories are we crafting, and what, if anything, are we really learning from them?
Great questions! And there are many, many more, because we’ve never crafted relationships with multichannel social technologies before. What about organizing without organizations and bypassing traditional institutions? And the rapidly evolving Culture of Sharing, empowered by real-time, mobile, location-aware, multiscreened, conversation-starting, knowledge-sharing tools and platforms.
I can’t wait to continue the discovery process – the more I learn the less I feel I know! – and I hope you will come along with me!
But first things, first…
Welcome to the new home of the forest & the trees! I’m in the process of moving here from my old site, so please forgive the mess. It’s been so great to be working with great clients and having the opportunity to speak at conferences and teach workshops and classes, but like the tale of the cobbler, I’ve put off working on my own “shoes” way too long. (My husband and friends tell me they could retire before the age of 70 if I just would have given them a nickle for every time during the past two years I said I was going to re-do my website!)
This is going to have to be one of those just-move-all-of-the-boxes-at-once-and-unpack-and-decide-what-to-keep-and-what-to-get-rid-of-later kind of moves. In other words, this will be a work-in-progress for bit, so please bear with me. Consider it an adventure of sorts. I am!
It’s feels great to be here. Finally! And I think my new shoes are going to fit me very well. Ahhh…..
